Gilmore Car Museum
The Gilmore Car Museum is located on a 90-acre historic campus midway between Detroit and Chicago. Visitors can shoot the breeze in an old-fashioned gas station while children stand inches from a 1930 Rolls-Royce that’s from a Disney® movie and grandparents reminisce about a ’57 Chevy that was a star from yesteryear. Stroll the campus, eat lunch in our authentic Blue Moon Diner, and walk right up to an amazing collection of over 300 vintage automobiles and motorcycles.
John Ball Zoo
John Ball Zoological Garden is an urban park located on the west side of Grand Rapids, Michigan. It is situated on the ravines and bluffs along the west edge of the park. The zoo houses a variety of animals from around the world and is a significant regional attraction. With the Zoo School and Wildlife Conservation Fund, the zoo gives something back to the community and world as a whole.
Historic Bowen Mills
A 19 acre historical park that includes an 1864 grist mill and cider mill. It is a working museum that still grinds and sells fresh corn meal through the use of water-powered mill stones. Enjoy an 1840’s plank house, an 1850’s one room school house, an 1860’s Victorian home, a covered bridge, horses, and a picnic area. They offer several fall activities plus history encampments, live music and apple dumplings.They are open year-round for tours.
Historic Charlton Park
Historic Charlton Park village, museum and recreation area is a historically oriented local facility of Barry County, Michigan that sits on 310 acres along the Thornapple River. The village is made up of a number of 19th and early 20th century structures that have been brought together from around the county to recreate a Michigan village from the turn of the 20th century.
Kalamazoo Air Zoo
The Air Zoo, founded as the Kalamazoo Aviation History Museum, is an aviation museum and indoor amusement park in Portage, Michigan. The Air Zoo holds many historic and rare aircraft, including the world’s fastest air-breathing aircraft, the SR-71B Blackbird. Yankee Springs Recreation Area
Yankee Springs Recreation Area was once the hunting grounds of the Algonquin Indians and the famous Chieftain, Chief Noonday. The site was established in 1835 and the village was made famous by Yankee Bill Lewis who owned and operated a hotel along the stagecoach run from Kalamazoo to Grand Rapids.
